We spent a few days down in West Virginia last week. It's where D was born and lived for the first few years of his life. More specifically, a little place called West Union. His family owns 100+ acres down there, and all I can say is that the mountains in West Virginia are breathtaking. Everywhere you look, the views are beautiful. However, the reason for visiting was a bit heartbreaking, I am very happy that we went. Back in the day, the farm was a self-sufficient, prize winning bountiful place. Now, it's abandoned. The house was filled with so many treasures, that I wish we could have taken them all with us. (So many books!) Hopefully someday we will be able to build a little house on the land and live out our days there.

These photos were taken behind the farmhouse. The mountains just go on and on forever.
